Hiding reviews - a good thing?

By Anup S • December 5, 2008 • Filed in: Marketing, Reputation, Reviews

We just got feedback from an ex boss and friend of mine that Hiding reviews might be damaging for somebody who uses this service.

It is a very interesting thing to note and we have put this forward with many of our existing clients who use this service. They disagree!.

The reasons put forward were that a review / recommendation management service like ours is used mainly for their marketing efforts to enable potential clients to see how their ’satisfied’ clients are rating their services. According to them marketing work which they pay for should be under their control.

However this doesnt help potential clients who want to get true opinions about the service.

So to keep this service fair and to listen to both sides of the equation, ReviewScale is thinking of showing an indicator if you have more than 25% reviews hidden. What do you think ?
